Click on Your Question:
Type of Hair & How Much Hair to Buy
You want 100% human hair, preferably virgin remy.
❗Avoid synthetic hair, as it is made from plastic fibers, and will melt when heat is applied.❗
For NSBW & Beaded Sew In
Hair Type: If you're getting Non Sewn Beaded Wefts (NSBW) you'll be shopping for weft/track hair.
You'll want to get Machine Weft Hair, Seamless Hair Wefts, or Genius Wefts
❗Do not get hand tied wefts, they unravel too easily.❗
Quantity: A full pack, 3 ounces, or 150 grams is usually enough for a full head (three tracks doubled).
If you have thicker hair, buy 1 1/2 packs, 3.5-4 ounces, or 200 grams (four tracks doubled).

For IMB & IKSL
Hair Type: If you're getting Individual Micro Beads (IMB) or Individual Keratin Shrink Links (IKSL), you'll be shopping for Individual I-tip hair.
❗Do not get U-tips or Flat tips, you want I-tips.❗
Quantity: 125-150 strands is considered a full head, but if you have thicker hair, it is recommended that you get 150 to 200 strands.

Hair Lengths
18 Inches is the average length for hair extensions. It falls a little below the bra strap, and can be cut to blend in with short hair. If you have hair shoulder length or above, 18 inches is the recommended length for you. If your hair is extremely short, we may have to cut them to 14-16 inches to blend them correctly.
20 inches will fall at the waist area. 20 inches can be used for people with hair anywhere below shoulder length. If your hair is shoulder length or above, 20 inches wouldn't be a good fit. Because of the excessive cutting and blending that has to be done for people with short hair, 20 inches would look un-natural after the blending process. If your hair is past your shoulders, you might like to try 20 inches for extra length.
22 inches is for people who already have generally long hair, but want it longer! It will fall just above your belly button area. If your hair length hits your bra strap or below, you qualify for 22 inch hair.
24 inches is very long. This is for people with long hair who can't get enough of the length. 24 inches will fall just above your belt loops.
Hair Textures
The most common hair type you'll find is "straight" or "silky straight", but after the first wash, it has a small wave to it.
There is also wavy hair and curly hair available. Keep in mind (highest quality excluded) that the wavy and curly textures will get more tangled faster than the straight texture.
The more curly you go, the more the hair has been chemically processed. This goes the same with color. If you're getting blonde hair or vivid hair colors, it has been processed more than the black, dark brown, and brown hair.

Remy Hair.
The term remy hair usually refers to hair that has been collected where the cuticles remain intact and are aligned in the same direction from root to tip.
Be careful though, the term 'remy' is widely misused in the industry and now tends to be branded to highly processed hair which has been stripped, treated, and in fact is not actually remy hair at all. This makes it very difficult for the consumer to know exactly what they are buying.
Yaki Hair
Yaki hair extensions are more textured than the typical "silky straight" hair extensions. Yaki is a good choice if you have bleached your hair to the point where it's textured a bit more "rough", if you've used a relaxer on your hair, or if your hair is not super silky looking naturally.
Virgin Hair.
Virgin is just another way of saying that the hair hasn't been dyed or chemically processed in any way. Most virgin hair has a natural wave to it and comes in darker colors since it has never been dyed.
Many companies use the term virgin on their packaging when their product isn't virgin at all, so it's important to get virgin hair from a trusted source like Pauline's Human Hair in Bellflower.
Indian Hair.
The term Indian Hair is just a way of telling us where the hair comes from geographically. Indian hair is the most popular type of hair extension because it can be straightened, curled, and dyed easily. Other types of hair extensions include Brazilian, Peruvian, Malaysian, Burmese, Mongolian, Chinese, Vietnamese, and Russian,
Raw/Bulk Hair.
Raw hair is hair that has just been cut off of the ponytail with no further processing or manufacturing. It becomes bulk hair once it has been cleaned by the manufacturer. It looks like this...
Weft Hair.
Weft hair is achieved by sewing bulk hair onto a "track". People refer to this as weft hair or tracks. They look like this...
Individual Hair.
Individual hair is made by combining shoe-lace like strands of bulk hair. This hair looks like this...
