Beaded Sew In

This technique is very similar to the Non Sewn Beaded, but a little bit more harsh on the hair. You'll see different variations of this method labeled as "Hand Tied Hair Extensions" or "NBR/Non Beaded Row" hair extensions.

Since it involves sewing, you can expect your hair to be pulling at many different directions it's not meant to. This will cause these extensions to feel tighter, which could result in headaches for some fragile scalps. However some hard headed clients like the tightness as it gives them a reassuring feeling that the extensions are in place.

If your hair is thick enough to handle it and you'd like the extra tightness this may be a great option for you. If you're on the fence between the two, I'd say try the Non Sewn Beaded first and if you're not totally in love, then this may be a second option to try.

Tightening Beaded Sew-In

If you plan on keeping your extensions long term, make sure you get them tightened every 4-6 weeks. The sooner you stop in to get them tightened, the better. On average, humans lose 50-150 strands of hair per day. Tightenings are especially important because hair that has already naturally shed will be stuck in the beads until I have a chance to brush them out. The longer you wait, the more hair will be stuck in your beads. Waiting long periods of time in between tightening can cause tangling, matting, and stress to your natural hair. After 10 weeks without a tightening, Nikki will have to remove the extensions and put them back in. Even if they feel fine, book an appointment so we can make sure there is no tangling or other problems that you may not be able to see on your own. Tightening prices vary and can be seen under the prices menu.
